NEW EAST MARITIME SOLUTION: THE 3-STEP CORRIDOR

(Connecting the NEW EAST to the Atlantic via Existing Waterways)

Prayer alone will not help our people from the impending battle for our land after the government has already confiscated our crude oil sharing same to the greedy elite. Our people cannot continue to rely on Lagos ports and Port Harcourt. We need Port Oguta, Port Azumini to begin to function in earnest.

This animal prays as well as puts his hands and legs to build his future.

The Azumini Blue River Route (Abia's Hidden Gem) is now an open secret. This route connects the entire New East of Nigeria to the Atlantic Ocean.

We owned Port Harcourt until our greedy brothers were told that they are the South-South, and that we are South-EastSouth-East, just to reduce our strength. Glaring tactical division-to-rule  that will fail one day. That's why you see Nyesom Wike, Chibuike Amaechi claiming they are not Igbo. They want to grab power before showing up. It's an ancient Hebrew tactic. It is not the best of strategies. Be you, no matter where, what and why.

This, perhaps, could be because the cost of being an Igbo in Nigeria is both high and unimaginably disgusting. As soon as Jonathan added Ebelechukwu to his name, Wole Soyinka, Bola Tinubu, and their fleet of liars who designed APC;  the killing machine, descended on him until he lost the presidency in 2015 — which has brought Nigeria to this current socioeconomic mess.

A mess that has led to further destruction of Nigeria's security, unity, future and economy. To escape the upcoming imbroglio stemming from PDP's socioeconomic foundation which APC has destroyed, the New East must think about Azumini town (Ukwa East LGA) on the Abia-Rivers border and Oguta Lake in Imo State.

Over-dependence on Lagos Apapa and Port Harcourt Onne has to stop because it costs us a lot of money. This should be our political bargaining package : Building two seaports in ABIA and IMO. Already, the New East expends about $1.9b yearly on movement of goods from Lagos and Port Harcourt. This should stop before 2027.

The Azumini River is a deep tributary of the Imo River, which flows into the Atlantic Ocean at Opobo Channel. Currently, it is already navigable for medium barges (used for sand dredging).

The plan to develop the port is feasible in 18 months. Dredging 25km to accommodate Panamax vessels (depth: 12.5m).

Building Azumini Inland Port as Abia’s main export hub would help our commercial future. This will revolutionize Aria Aria and Main Market. From fashion export to food and beverage import, this port would create balance, decongest Lagos, and make our human and economic security sustainable.

Secondly, the Imo River Expansion (Collaboration with Rivers State) would add a new gravitas to the socioeconomic emancipation of the New East.

Strategic Partnership that would link Azumini Port to Oguta Lake (Imo State) → Orashi River → Niger Delta can build a collaboration between the Old East and the New East.

This strategic alliance would utilize Rivers State’s existing ocean ports (Bonny, Onne) as transshipment nodes to make the maritime industry within the region so harmonious and efficient.

The economic benefit of this project is massive. It will ensure over 80% cost reduction for Abia, Anambra, Ebony, Enugu and Imo manufacturers, importers and exporters compared to Lagos ports. It will ensure 24-hour clearance for SE-bound imports via Rivers ports to Imo and Abia ports. This will remove the burden of custom rackets that target Igbo importers. This will help bring more businesses closer to the South East.

In the event of a war, you cannot starve over 40 million people by blocking the ports.

This Abia/Imo Industrial Waterway Network is an amazing groundbreaking infrastructure initiative that can change the course of history.

Aba-Owerri-Onitsha-Enugu-Abakiliki  industrial zones will be able to connect to  Azumini Port and the Oguta Ports. Subsequently open up the entire New East for FDI investment in modern agriculture processing and exports, an improvement on Michael Okpara's model.

Export Terminal: Steel exports from African Iron & Steel (Obuaku) would be easier.

The Projected Impact (PI) would be geometric and massive:

$1.9B/year in new SE exports (garments, steel, plastics, palm oil, shoe, cassava, ethanol)

300,000 jobs in logistics and allied sectors would be created.

WHY IS THIS FEASIBLE?

No constitutional hurdles.

Southeast legislators have a voice that is largely unused. They can push this project this year 2025.

This regional Seaport will use Rivers/Imo waterways without requiring new state coastline.

This project complies with NIWA Federal Authority over navigable rivers.

Faster Implementation (vs. Ugwuta Lake Plan):

Azumini River is already navigable (minimal dredging needed)

Leverages existing Onne Port infrastructure

Geopolitical Bridge is an essential advantage.

This will strengthen the SE-South South integration.

This will reduce the New East reliance on Lagos/Calabar ports, create more business, push innovation, make the New East more sustainable.

This will generate revenue for the Federal government, improve local content creation, drive interest in exportatiom and help stabilize Nigeria.
