Simple prayers are the most powerful prayers.
When prayer is simple it carries extraordinary power because the faith that backs the soft words is loaded with knowledge and certainty.
Prayer is a transaction. A request received. Any prayer can be answered. Nothing is impossible to the prayer warrior.
Funke Felix-Adejumo, on a day she visited House on the Rock, said that "You look like what you look at."
Looking at the word of God in the moment of prayer is key to the release of faith without which prayer is meaningless.
Looking at the answers to the prayer you have prayed without any doubt is powerful. It is simple but a complex system. You ask and receive it. No matter the circumstances don't discuss it again. You're healed. You are pregnant. You have your desire. You have your house. Ask it. Receive it.
"Ask and you shall receive". Matthew 7:7a
That statement is deep, rejuvenating and in the case of Mary and Martha, it exactly explains what transpired. They were looking at the ugly situation, when they should have been looking unto Jesus Christ.
They asked, but didn't receive, that's why they kept mourning. Unlike this duo, in Luke 7 the centurion said to the Lord, say a word and my servant shall be healed. It happened unto him as be believed.
The simplest prayer could be a word. Don't speak too much in prayer, it shows lack of faith.
Imaging if they had began to celebrate after sending the message to Jesus.
Imagine if they had refused to bury Lazurus.
They would have got the shock of their lives.
Rather they resigned to doubt.
They did the opposite of faith.
They despaired. They mourned deeply.
Lazarus was a good brother, for he was also loved by Jesus Christ. He was a lovely soul.
When I read that Jesus Christ told his apostles that Lazarus was as sleep, I found it ridiculous, a humorous kick at the face of the devil.
It's not over, "Who is he that would harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?" Letter to the Galatians
When Jesus Christ eventually told them that Lazarus was dead, that they had to go to Bethany, they reminded him of the troublesome Jews who were threatening to kill him there.
That's to tell you how interested Jesus Christ was in the case of Lazarus. His love for humanity is unparalleled.
He went ahead to visit Bethany, because according to him in John 11:1-20 he that walks in the day is afraid of no one.
Jesus Christ was fearless. He was too big for every challenge before him. That is why it is important to look up to him when you pray. He is the author and finisher of our faith.
Mary and Martha never knew he would come. They never knew Jesus Christ would come and settle and defeat death with the simplest prayer.
"LAZARUS COME FORTH!"
The dead man arose.
I have a good news for you today, your pain can never withstand the arrival of JESUS CHRIST this moment.
No matter that challenge your family is facing, it shall bow at the mention of JESUS CHRIST.
The Lord said I should tell you : I am come that you may have life and have it more abundantly. It is over. Amen.
Testify today in the name of JESUS CHRIST. Amen.
"I am too big for this challenge; satan get off."
