2FACE'S METAMORPHOSIS

If you happen to be in love with anybody between 2004 and 2009, in Africa or Nigeria, you must have come to appreciate this song called Ole by 2Face Idibia Ft Freestyle. Up to scratch. Classic. Scintillating music.  If you were not in love then, you may have listened to it on radio while driving, resting or on cable television, Channel O, then. Ole, a title welded with lyrics of love, loving and emotions, was more popular than AIT and Cool FM, then. A song of poignant distinction. The act of stealing one another's heart is very common in Nigeria amongst the youths. An experience only Nigerians can grasp. Nigeria is a great place to grow up. The complexities of street life, the community life, the diversity, the setting of estates and the unavoidable street friendships make growing up in Nigeria fun-full.

The song masterfully portrays that kind of feeling one harbours for those delicious and juicy people, only those magnificent Mademoiselles when you remember them you do not think about the heart they stole only, nor the love missives they triggered, but the appetite-for-food they denied you for very long period. Yet, after sometime, that feeling, caused by that temporary theft, becomes a forgotten terror. Point is Ole with its rhythm and blues, technique and passion, reminds one of such feelings, evergreen and perpetual. Music is better than musicians.

Tuface is a musician who has won awards from several places including African Western award and the MTV Africa Music Awards. From a gangster out of school, to Planteshun Boyz, from 2Face to Tubaba, to Hypertek nigga, from the boy to the bourgeoisie, he is now about the richest Nigerian singer, with properties all over the country. His songs are rich and many-

i.         "African Queen
  1. “Ole”
  2. "No Shaking"
  3. "4 Instance"
  4. "Implication"
  5. "Only Me"
  6. "Rainbow"

Ole is the best of all of them. It was produced before his intransigence and Adamic fall. If you see Tuface, tell him to pick some more problems in the society and solve; such as building orphanages, free music schools, health care centres and raising funds for the needy every month. An OLE is a celebrity who has no tangible social responsibility. Musicians are miserly as politicians, both live rashly.
